American Corner Library
Is in Lamu Island near Mwanarasa Hotel and Donkey Sanctuary. It is well decorated and clean. They are served by the American Embassy thus they have a variety of books; junior books, academic and curriculm books. This is an ICT developed library with video players. They have a computer lab with around 12 computers with WiFi. This library opens at 8-5pm on weekdays. They have no PWD accessible ramp. Is the most advanced library in Lamu.
Our library ecosystem research project seeks to gather data on public libraries in Kenya. This phased out project seeks to gather information about these libraries (location, history, patronage, collections, etc) and use this information to create a digital, interactive and verified map of Kenya's libraries that can be accessed by the public for free.
